Privacy Policy.

Effective September 22, 2026

This policy explains how Victor Wang (“vic.law,” “we,” or “us”) handles personal information through vic.law (the “Site”). We receive what you send us and basic technical information needed to run the Site. We use it to respond to you and operate the Site. We don’t sell it, and the Site has no analytics or advertising trackers.

What we collect

  • Start form: your name, email address, note, and chosen route (Legal matters or Good ideas). The form also sends a random submission ID, a subject line, and an empty spam-trap field.
  • Email: messages you send us directly and our replies.
  • Technical information: our host may receive your IP address, browser and device type, page requested, referring page, and time, and may keep this in server logs.

We treat everything sent through the Start form, on either route, as confidential. Even so, please leave confidential or sensitive details out of it; we don’t ask for sensitive information through the Site.

Cookies and tracking

The Site does not set cookies, run analytics, use advertising trackers, or save form drafts in your browser. With JavaScript turned off, the form submits directly to a Formspree page. Formspree’s own policies govern that page. Because the Site does not track you across other sites, it does not respond differently to “Do Not Track” signals.

How we use it

We use information to read and respond to your note; decide whether we can help with a Legal matters inquiry, including conflict checks; keep correspondence records; operate the Site and screen out spam and abuse; and comply with law and our professional obligations.

Hoji, the cat you see around the Site, is an AI assistant we are building. There is no chat or AI assistant on the Site today.

Who receives it

We disclose form submissions and other personal information only as described here. Vercel hosts the Site and receives technical information. Formspree receives form submissions, screens them for spam, stores them in its dashboard, and emails them to us. Google hosts our email. These providers handle information under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, consistent with our professional duties. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Other sites

The Site links to YouTube, LinkedIn, X, and GitHub. Once we publish videos, the Site may show thumbnails loaded from YouTube, so YouTube will receive your IP address and browser information. Those services handle information under their own policies.

Retention

We keep inquiries as long as needed to respond. We may keep Legal matters inquiries longer for conflict checks and recordkeeping. Copies in Formspree’s dashboard stay until we delete them.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we receive. No website, form, or email system is perfectly secure.

Your choices

You may email us to ask what information we have about you or to ask us to correct or delete it. We’ll respond, but we may need to keep some records for legal or professional reasons.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version with a new effective date.
